Travel Checklist

  • Passports - Don't forget your passport! Please double check to make sure your passport hasn’t expired.

  • Visa - Non- Nigerians require a visa to visit the country. We advise applying for this as soon as possible.

  • Vaccinations - We recommend checking with your healthcare provider about routine travel vaccinations. Commonly recommended vaccines for Nigeria include Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A, and Typhoid.

  • Anti-Malaria Medication - Lagos is a malaria-prone area, so it’s advisable to take anti-malaria medication before and during your stay. In addition, consider bringing mosquito repellent.

Accomodation

Mainland vs. Island

Mainland Lagos is where both of our wedding venues are located. It’s home to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and areas like Ikeja and Yaba. The mainland offers easier access to our events, more budget-friendly hotels, and less daily traffic for wedding-related travel.

Island Lagos includes areas like Victoria Island, Lekki, and Ikoyi. It’s known for beautiful beaches, upscale restaurants, art galleries, and exciting nightlife. While it’s a fantastic place to explore, Lagos traffic can make crossing between the mainland and island unpredictable—so we suggest staying on the mainland and visiting the island for day trips or sightseeing.

To keep your trip stress-free, we recommend booking a hotel near Ikeja, where our venues are located. Here are some options across different price points:

Things to do

Lagos has something for everyone. Whether you stay on the mainland or venture out to the island, here are some top picks for exploring:

Activities on the Mainland:

  • Kalakuta Museum (Ikeja) – Visit the former home of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti for music history and culture.

  •  Computer Village (Ikeja) – A lively tech and electronics market; worth a visit for the experience.

  •  Maryland Mall & Ikeja City Mall – Great spots for shopping, food, and cinema.

Activities on the Island (For Day Trips)

  • Lekki Conservation Centre – Walk the famous canopy walkway and enjoy nature just outside the city.

  • Terra Kulture (Victoria Island) – A cultural hub featuring art exhibitions, theatre, and a lovely Nigerian restaurant.

  • Freedom Park (Lagos Island) – A former prison turned open-air arts and music venue.

  • Jara Beach Resort / La Campagne Tropicana – Gorgeous beach resorts for relaxation, food, and ocean views.

  • Upscale Dining & Nightlife – Explore trendy restaurants and lounges like SLoW Lagos, NOK by Alára, and RSVP.
